OUR Laser Hair Removal
How does Laser Hair Removal work?
Laser hair removal works by sending a beam of laser light to a group of hair follicles with enough power to disable or destroy the root, but not enough power to harm the surrounding skin. This process is called selective photo-thermolysis. It is selective because it targets only the hair and not the skin. Photo means light and thermolysis means destroying with heat. The surrounding skin is usually cooled. Some methods include a gel, a spray, or a cooling tip.
How is the procedure done?
Initially the hair should be trimmed or shaved on the area to be treated. Then a thin coat of clear cold gel is lightly smoothed over the skin and laser pulses are directed at the hair bulbs.
The sensation is generally likened to the snapping of a rubber band on the skin. Anesthetic can be applied to the area for people sensitive to pain.
How many treatments are needed?
Since the laser affects hair follicles only when they are in the growth phase, more than one treatment is necessary to disable hair follicles that subsequently enter the growth phase. Successive Laser Hair Removal treatments are generally spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. During your consultation you will be advised as to the approximate number of treatment required.
Benefits of Laser Hair Removal:
•The FDA approved this technology for permanent hair reduction
•The process is simple and could be utilized as a lunch time treatment
•Less pain and discomfort compare to other treatment methods
•You experience no down time thus enabling you to resume regular activities immediately.
