OUR Laser Hair Removal

Westside Aesthetics uses only the most safe, painless and effective systems for light based hair removal. In our Westwood office, we use the Soprano Diode laser and at the Malibu and Beverly Hills locations, we use the Palomar StarLux Intense Pulsed Light system.

Whichever system is used, the principles are similar. Intense light energy is sent through the top layers of the skin. The light targets and heats dark tissue, and the surrounding, lighter tissue, is unaffected. Hair follicles are darker than skin, so the light destroys the hair follicle without damaging skin cells.

The Soprano (our Westwood clinic laser) is a new 810 nm diode laser (the industry gold standard) that is completely painless. Without exaggeration, it is by far the least uncomfortable laser on the market today. Instead of a pulse method of treatment, the Soprano treats in a continuous motion. The laser energy does not go into the skin as a painful blast, but rather heats the hair follicles gradually and gently. This system is about twice as fast as any other system that we have used and is just as effective. Most patients are hair free within four to five treatments. Don’t take our word for it – we encourage our patients to gather information and reviews from the web prior to treatment. You will see that this really is a step above any other laser hair removal technology.

We thoroughly cool the area before and during the procedure to ensure maximum comfort. Although it is not usually needed, we also have numbing creams available for those with very sensitive skin.
